HONEY BADGERS 5 - 4 GRIMSBY STORMERS

 

The Honey Badgers overturned a three goal deficit against a travelling Grimsby squad short on numbers but full of spirit. Despite a string of heroics in the Grimsby net, the Badgers struck twice in the final six minutes to record the first win of the season.

The Honey Badgers missed out on a winning start to the new season, having fought back to level the game in the final period after giving up an early lead.

Goals came from Walker, Brown and Warren Bennett. A hattrick and MOM performance marked Bennett's return to the squad, after serving a full season with the Badgers' farm team, Coventry Bruins.

MEDWAY MADNESS 5 - 4 BADGERS

The Medway Madness said "Welcome to the House of Fun" to Coventry's premier rec team, one year since the last meeting- a 3-0 Medway victory. Taking a one goal lead in to the final period, the Badgers could not hold on as the hosts threw everything forwards. The small Badgers squad made the long journey home with tired legs in baggy trousers.
